Rachel is a photographer, writer, filmmaker and tutor. Her examination of nature and the environment follows in the traditions of wildlife photography. She then subverts the genre by questioning the psychological, physical and philosophical barriers we often put up, separating ourselves from nature and its connection to us.
Referencing feminist discourse on nature, psycho-geography, anthropocentrism and place as a human construct, she seeks out those subjects that don't have a voice in literal or metaphorical terms. In this way, attention is drawn to what we choose to conserve, preserve, admire and subjugate.
Rachel has exhibited extensively in the UK, France and the USA. She currently lives and works in London.
Rachel tutors privately, within corporates, and teaches creative nature and mindful photography at the City Lit FE college in Holborn. She arranges small group trips and writes for publications. For further information please use the contact form:
